Interfaith

It is one of the most important functions of the Hindu Council to represent the Hindu faith in the inter-faith meetings and to take part in the multicultural activities in Australia and the Australasia region.We have been increasingly involved in this activity. Give below are the interfaith activities we have been involved with :

  • The peace symposium 2017 : organized by Ahmadiya muslims community Australia at Masjid Bait-ul-Huda. The topic of the symposium was “World crisis and Pathway to Peace”. Attendees included various members of federal and state parliament, mayor of Blacktown, many current and former councilors and by many religious organizations including Hindu Council represented by its Vice President, Surinder Jain.
  • Phnom Penh Dialogue 2008 on Interfaith Cooperation for Peace and Harmony 3 – 6 April 2008
  • Regional Inter-faith Co-operation for Peace, Development and Dignity in Cebu, Philippines from 14-16 March 2006
  • An Observance for Commonwealth Day 2006 in presence of Her Majesty The Queen on 13 March 2006.
  • Community Harmony Reference Group, Ryde on 7 February 2006.
  • The World Conference of Religions for Peace (NSW) meeting on 7 September 2005.
  • The World Conference of Religions For Peace on 8 March 2006.
  • Multicultural Group Discussions on 13 July 2005 organised by the Minister for Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs.
  • Dialogue on Inter-faith Cooperation, Community Building and Harmony in Yogyakarta, Indonesia from 5-7 December 2004.
  • Women’s Inter-faith Network Meetings.
