Yoga Day Celebration in Canberra at HTCC, Florey

International Yoga Day Celebration – Saturday 25 June 2022

Hindu Council of Australia in association with HTCC celebrate International Yoga day on Saturday 25 June from 9.15 for 9.30 am as per the following program:

Venue: Hindu Temple and Cultural Centre, Florey, ACT

Yoga Sessions:

Mr Vijay Arora: 9.30 am to 10.15 am

Mrs Sushil Gunchlla: 10.15 am to 10.45 am

Q&A: 10.45 am to 11 am

Refreshments: 11 am to 11.30 am

Two very experienced Yoga Gurus/Teachers, Mr Vijay Arora and Mrs Sushil Gunchlla would conduct yoga sessions.

Vijay Arora

Vijay ji learnt Yoga under the Yoga master Swami Dhirendra Brahmchari from 1970 to 1974 and started undertaking part-time yoga sessions for the Ashram in New Delhi while working in the Dept of Defence, Govt of India. He has worked in Australian Public Service and as private consultant in IT field and retired in 2017. After migrating to Australia in 1975, he is helping Australian community by conducting the Yoga sessions as part of his charity work. He joined Yoga Australia in 1998 as a teacher member and now is affiliated as Senior Yoga teacher.

Vijay ji runs a non-profit ‘VA YogaOnLine’ organisation providing Hatha Yoga classes at various levels, Mindfulness yoga practice, Pranayama and Meditations on Zoom three to four times a week.

Sushil Gunchlla

Sushil ji has master’s in psychology and works for the Australian Childhood Trauma Group as Behaviour Practitioner. At very young age in India, she started participating in variety of competitions and attended many camps.

She has done Graduate certificate in Vinyasa Flow (Australia) and Postgraduate in Chair Yoga. This helps people with disability and especially the women who carry the stress and without knowing the effects.

Vinyasa Flow provides the strength for internal and external strength in the whole body. Chair yoga included all the age group those who think we cannot do yoga it provides them the opportunity to connect and gain strength physically and mentally.
