Shankaracharya (Born around 688 CE) was a youthful, brilliant philosopher who revived the ailing state of spirituality in India. His commentaries on the scriptures and debates with leading philosophers of the time helped heal rifts.
He emphasized a scientific spirit towards religion and spirituality helping to discard superstitions and irrational ideas from the populace.
His commentaries still stand out today, immensely authoritative and respected by all.
