Science of Happiness According to Yoga Vedanta – Discussion Series – Friday 8 October

Our Fortnightly Spiritual Evenings provide a reflective way to wind up the working week.

Join the event on FRIDAY 8 OCTOBER from 7.30 pm via Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88434388900?pwd=UHI5cDRyZW9SZzdrRGN1bkdmV2h3Zz09

Group discussion led by Pravrajika Gayatriprana, a senior nun of Sri Sarada Math of the Ramakrishna Order.

Themes for discussion:

The Three States: We pass through three states each day: waking, dream and deep sleep. Even when the mind is not operating in deep sleep, still some experience is there. ‘I had a restful sleep,’ we say. That points to some subliminal consciousness. That, the Upanishadic sages say, is the source of happiness deep within – our Soul.

The Shadow Ego: “The ego is nothing but a shadow of the Self.” The Ego, identifying with the body and mind, disappears in the blazing light of our true ‘I’ – the Atman.

Drawing on the book: Science of Happiness – According to Yoga Vedanta by Pravrajika Divyanandaprana: a compilation of her talks given to students at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology in New Delhi in 2018 •Pravrajika Divyananandaprana is a nun of Sri Sarada Math of the Ramakrishna Order. Thousands view her talks on YouTube.
