Themes:

  • The Technology of Happiness: Psychologists posit that fifty per cent of our happiness is genetic, forty per cent based on our outlook on life: sunny or gloomy, and ten per cent due to our circumstances in life. But if our thoughts are positive our genetic makeup can increasingly be so too.
  • Emotional Intelligence: ‘Emotion is meant to ennoble life, lift human life to a higher level. Through the power of emotion, one can become godly or demonic. How we handle our emotions will determine the course of our life.’
  • Four Levels of Happiness: From the pleasure maximising of Immediate Gratification to the selflessness, spirituality and love of Ultimate Good, we vacillate and evolve through the ‘Four Levels of Happiness.’

Join the discussion led by Pravrajika Gayatriprana.

Drawing on the book: Science of Happiness – According to Yoga Vedanta by Pravrajika Divyanandaprana: a compilation of her talks given to students at the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology in New Delhi in 2018.
