Australian Electoral Commission would invite everyone to participate in a referendum briefing from the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC).
It’s been over 20 years since Australia’s last referendum, and voters are expected to vote on 14 October 2023. The AEC would like to provide your organisation with information about what a referendum is and how to participate. We seek your assistance in sharing this information with your communities.
About the session
The briefing session will involve representatives from the AEC and be facilitated by Cultural Perspectives, the AEC’s appointed multicultural communication agency. The session will cover:
- an overview of the referendum process and voting options
- AEC’s role in the referendum
- what voters need to do
- translated information available for CALD voters
- responses to questions asked in the RSVP form and an opportunity for further questions.
The session will be recorded and will be provided to participants after the briefing. By participating in the session, you are consenting to be identified and recorded.
