Greetings on 75th Independence Day of India

The Hindu Council of Australia on behalf of 700,000 strong Australian Hindu communities joins in celebrating the government of India’s Initiative of commemorating 75the independence day as Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

Freed from the shackles of colonial oppression, India came a long way to become one of the top 5 economies in the world, leaving British colonisers behind. Significant changes are being witnessed under the dynamic leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi and his initiatives Atmanirbhar Bharat, Make in India, Niti Ayog, Startup India, etc.

India also made rapid progress on the front of social inclusion with a woman with a tribal background being elected by a landslide as the President of India and a farmer’s son as Vice-President.

Birthplace of many dharmas ( Hindu, Sikh, Jain, Buddha), India is a land of religions and the message of India to the world is Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (The world is one family), emphasising Universal brotherhood/sisterhood.

Happy Independence Day
