Greetings for the Hindu New Year

Greetings for the Hindu New Year

Hindu Council of Australia wishes you and your family a very happy Hindu New Year that starts on 13 April 2021 which this year is the first day of the month of Chaitra of Vikram Samvat 2078.
Hindus follow a twelve-month lunar calendar, with thirteen months year every fourth year, this has kept the Hindu lunar calendar synchronised with the solar calendar since 6676 BC. The moon is our unique mind, the sun is the all-pervading energy. Just as the Hindu calendar has kept both the moon and the sun synchronised, let us unite our mind and energies to grow into unbounded happiness in the Year 2078.
Let us start the Hindu New Year with lots of positive thoughts and hopes. We all move forward unitedly during this COVID-19 pandemic which has affected millions of lives throughout the world.

om śāntiḥ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ||

May all be happy; May all be free from infirmities; May all see good; May none partake suffering.
