In this Talk:

  • Humanity sits at the top of the evolutionary scale. Only we have reflective consciousness: the ability to think about and gain wisdom from deeper insights. Consciousness is equally present in all beings but not equally manifested. Only humanity can fully manifest consciousness.
  • The mystical and powerful mantra Om – the Anahata Sound or Pranava (the original word of power) – resonates eternally in the universe. Poetically known as the ‘music of the spheres,’ we cannot hear it from our ordinary level of consciousness, but the perfected yogis can.
  • What happens after death? It’s a fundamental question that has haunted the minds of thinking people throughout the ages, provoking dogmatic and differing opinions. The Bhagavad Gita asserts that two things are certain in this world: a person once born is sure to die, and once dead, is sure to be born again. Rebirth, the Gita says, is overcome only after God-Realization or Self-Realization.

Program:

  • Talk and Powerpoint Presentation by Pravrajika Gayatriprana
  • Recorded Guided Meditation by Pravrajika Ajayaprana.

The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna: The conversations between Sri Ramakrishna, the 19th-century mystic and promoter of interfaith understanding, and the brilliant, questioning minds of Calcutta. In Sri Ramakrishna, they came face-to-face with a type of Spirituality and mystical states they had only read about. Translated from Bengali by Swami Nikhilananda with the literary help of Joseph Campbell and Margaret Woodrow Wilson, daughter of President Woodrow Wilson. Foreword by Aldous Huxley.
