In this Talk:
It’s ironic. We embark on the spiritual path brimming with a sense of adventure and enthusiasm. We look to a more peaceful life, a softening, even a transcending of life’s suffering. But soon we discover, along with some peace, our spiritual practices also throw up challenges in subtler forms. We’ve sparked off internal and external reactions. Meditation, we discover, while promising a ‘bed of roses’ requires some prickly, thorny navigation through our old ways of living and thinking.
The great teachers of Vedanta know this all too well. They assure us that if we sincerely follow the guidance of the wise, we will gradually unfold the fathomless peace that is our birthright.
