Hindu Community meets NSW Premier

The Hindu Council of Australia has set up our first one-on-one meeting of some Hindu leaders with the Premier of New South Wales, Hon Chris Minns.

It was an opportunity for our community leaders to present their needs and concerns directly to the Premier. We could not accommodate all Hindu organisations and have managed to take some and we look forward to another opportunity to take some more organisations.

This meeting has strengthened the relationship between the Hindu community and the NSW government. The meeting was also attended by Hon Steve Kamper, Minister for Multiculture and the office staff of both Ministers were present and made all the necessary notes.

The meeting was attended by the following members –
Shri Sai Paravastu, Hindu Council of Australia
Smt Shoba Deshikan, Hindu Council of Australia
Prof Nihal Agar,  Indian Australian Diaspora Foundation
Smt Akila Ramaratinam, Vishwa Hindu Parishad Australia
Shri Manoj Desai, Sewa Australia
Shri Dilip Darji, Vadtaldham Temple
Pt. Venkataram Krishnamurthy, Hindu Clergy
Shri Sivakumar Rajagopal, Hindu Education and Cultural Hub
Shri Vinayak Dixit, Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh
Dr Samir Sarkar, Australian Bengali Hindu Association
Pt. Yogesh Kumar, ARYA Samaj
Dr Meenakashi, Sanskrit School President

The Premier’s response and commitment to these issues will be crucial in building trust and ensuring the continued contribution of the Hindu community to the broader social and economic fabric of New South Wales.

We thank the Premier for this opportunity and look forward to the next steps and more opportunities to work together with the NSW Government.
