International Gita Mahotsav โ€“ 2025

The 2nd International Gita Mahotsav 2025 is scheduled to take place in Sydney, Australia, on May 3rd and 4th, 2025. Themed โ€œFrom Knowledge to Practice: The Gita in Daily Life,โ€ the event aims to celebrate the timeless wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita and its application in contemporary living. Event Highlights:

  • Seminars and Presentations: On May 3rd, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, attendees can participate in seminars and presentations exploring various aspects of the Bhagavad Gita and its relevance today. igm2025.au

  • Cultural Programs: The evening of May 4th features cultural performances that blend traditional and modern interpretations of Gita teachings. Log in or sign up to view

  • Gita Aarti: A special Gita Aarti ceremony is planned at the Parramatta River Foreshore on the 4th of April, offering a serene experience for devotees.

The festival is jointly organized by the Association of Haryanvis in Australia (AHA) and the Kurukshetra Development Board (KDB), collaborating with the Hindu Council of Australia and other cultural and spiritual organizations. The inaugural International Gita Mahotsav in Sydney occurred in April 2023, attracting participants from diverse backgrounds to engage in spiritual and cultural activities. General Religious Education in Secondary Schools

Hindu Council has been involved with the NSW Department of School Education since 2003 in drafting the original syllabus which was introduced in 2005. Cambridge University Press published the textbook for the course covering all the five religions. In 2015 we were again consulted by the publishers when the updated version of the textbook was published.

E-course on Hindu Religion

This course is designed to provide an overview of Hindu Religion and is suitable for non-Hindus to gain a very brief understanding of the Hindu religion.

A brief syllabus of the course โ€œIntroduction to Hindu Religionโ€ is given below.
