Hindu Council of Australia Condemns Atrocities Against Hindus in Bangladesh

The Hindu Council of Australia unequivocally condemns the recent escalation of violence and injustices against the Hindu minority in Bangladesh. This alarming trend, marked by attacks on individuals, desecration of temples, and unlawful arrests, has further endangered an already vulnerable community.

We express deep concern over the arrest and detention of Chinmoy Krishna Das, a prominent Hindu leader, under charges that appear to suppress peaceful advocacy for the rights and safety of Hindus in Bangladesh. The resulting unrest, including violent clashes, highlights the deteriorating situation for minorities in the region.

Bangladesh has a long-standing history of communal harmony, yet recent political upheaval and targeted violence against Hindus risk undermining the very fabric of its pluralistic society. These acts violate the principles of justice, equality, and human dignity enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families suffering in Bangladesh. We stand in solidarity with them during this incredibly difficult time and affirm our unwavering commitment to advocating for their safety and rights. The Hindu Council of Australia stands in solidarity with the global Hindu diaspora and all human rights advocates who are raising their voices against this injustice. We believe it is the collective responsibility of the international community to safeguard the rights of minorities and promote peace in regions facing instability.
