As part of the Australian Government’s “Act Now, Stay Secure” initiative, the Hindu Council of Australia (VIC) has successfully initiated a national campaign to raise cybersecurity awareness among vulnerable and underrepresented communities.
This initiative will continue to deliver culturally tailored education programs, hands-on workshops, and practical digital safety resources across various regions, with a focus on empowering seniors, students, and multicultural families. By equipping these groups with the knowledge to recognise scams, secure their devices, and safely navigate the online world, we’re not only addressing immediate cyber threats but also fostering a stronger, more digitally resilient society. This community-led effort marks a significant step toward reducing the digital divide and ensuring that every individual, regardless of background, can participate safely and confidently in Australia’s digital future.
We successfully spread awareness to Sewa International senior citizens chapter(s), which was well received by everyone, and they have further requested follow-up sessions to cover multiple dimensions of cybersecurity under this campaign.
