On Thursday, 24 April 2025, the Armenian-Australian community gathered at The Concourse in Chatswood, Sydney, to solemnly commemorate the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. This national event, organised by the Armenian Genocide Commemorative Committee, served as a poignant tribute to the 1.5 million Armenians who perished during the atrocities committed by the Ottoman Empire between 1915 and 1923.
A Milestone of Remembrance and Unity
The 2025 commemoration marked a significant milestone, reflecting over a century of resilience and the enduring commitment of the Armenian diaspora in Australia to honour their ancestors’ legacy. Michael Kolokossian, Executive Director of the Armenian National Committee of Australia (ANC-AU), expressed profound appreciation for the volunteers and community members who made the event possible. He emphasised that the 110th anniversary was not only a time to remember the past but also an opportunity to educate future generations and advocate for justice.
