Temples can open in NSW from Friday 15th May 2020

Temples can open in NSW from Friday 15th May 2020. Apart from the priest, up to 10 worshipers (including any children) with social distancing of 1.5 meters apart and 4 sqm per person are permitted. Temples are encouraged to keep a record of attendees especially those who have not installed CovidSafe app.

All places of worship should be appropriately clean.

A marriage can have up to 10 people.

A funeral can have up to 20 people indoors and 30 outdoors.

Government has been asked to provide financial relief to Independent Hindu priests who are not employed by an temple but act more like independent contractors and provide valuable service to the community.
