How to get proof of your COVID-19 vaccination

People can get proof of their COVID-19 vaccination status through their immunisation history statement or COVID-19 digital certificate.

Proof of COVID-19 vaccinations is free.

People who are eligible for Medicare

People who are eligible for Medicare and are over 14 years of age can get their proof using:

  • Medicare online account through myGov
  • Express Plus Medicare mobile app

People who do not have Medicare

People who are not eligible for Medicare can get proof of their vaccination using the Individual Healthcare Identifiers (IHI) service through their myGov account.

People do not need an IHI to get vaccinated, they only need it to get proof of vaccinations.

People who cannot go online

People who cannot get proof online can ask their vaccination provider to print their immunisation history statement for them.

They can also call the Australian Immunisation Register on 1800 653 809 and ask for a statement. It can take up to 14 days to arrive in the post.
