Some Yoga students and teachers had brought to the attention of Hindu Council of Australia that Yoga mats with the pictures of Gods are being manufactures and sold. Hindu Council embarked on an awareness campaign to educate the yoga community on the appropriate use of images of Hindu deities and sacred symbols.
The manufacturer of the mats apologized to Hindu Council of Australia and has withdrawn offensive Yoga mats from sale.
