Hindu Council of Australia advocates issues affecting Hindu community in Australia at various levels of Government including local councils, state governments and Federal Government. It has raised issues :

  • Visas for priests
  • Violence against students
  • Hindu cremation facilities
  • Advising Governments on interpretation of Hinduism
  • Lobbying with education departments to correct bias in teaching Hinduism
  • Obtaining permissions and Facilitating Hindu rituals in public places (like Paad yarta and religious processions)
  • Helping to obtain permission and certifying Hindu teachers and chaplains.
